We Sri Lanka have number tradition in embroidery. Most commonly, we use embroidery items are betel bags or bulat –payi of all sizes, caps or ispayya, kerchiefs or napkins (lensu), pillowcases or kotta ura and etc…
Current Situation of Corona Pandemic and its effect of second wave in Sri Lanka brought biggest threat to our daily outing life. In the meantime, we spend many times in Home. Description
The design must be original: that is, you created it yourself! And it must be previously unpublished.
The design remains YOURS. However, by submitting your design to the contest, you give East Star Handlooms permission to publish it on our website and our Facebook for this contest. It will not be used for any commercial purposes, on any submitted designs that are published on our site and Facebook; we will include the designer’s name and picture
Prize for the winner –
1st Prize – 6,000 LKR with Selected Silk Saree
2nd Prize – 4,000 LKR with Selected Cotton Saree
What must include – you must stich the given design on the right top corner in small size. Design given below.
What should not be done – No Machine embroidery

From 21st to 24th whose embroidery work receive more likes on Facebook will be the winner.
Who is 2nd Prize winner?
Among other competitors embroidery work (1st Prize Winner’s embroidery work not included) our Designing team will select most creative and beautiful design. Viewers will also have the opportunity to “judge” designs as they are posted by commenting on them. However, the final decision belongs to East Star Handlooms.
